Ms. Buschmann is an associate in Townsend's Washington, DC office and a member of the firm's Biotechnology & Chemistry Practice Group. She assists clients with patent prosecution, primarily for technologies in the pharmaceutical, chemistry, and biotechnology industries.
In addition to patent prosecution, Ms. Buschmann advises clients with regard to intellectual property reviews, including validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses. She also advises clients with regard to due diligence analyses in anticipation of venture investments and other corporate transactions.

- Chemistry, particularly small molecule pharmaceuticals, lead candidates and variants, methods of synthesis, and polymorphs.
- Biotechnology including antibodies, recombinant proteins and peptides, and screening and production techniques.
- Therapeutic cell products including blood products and stem cells.
- Pharmaceuticals, particularly oral dosage forms, but also including topical, transdermal, transmucosal, and ocular delivery as well as development of formulation, manufacture, indications, and dosing regimen.
- Medical devices including intrabronchial devices, ocular devices and implants, lymphedema equipment, spinal implants, and cardiac ablative equipment.
- Agricultural applications including herbicidal and pesticidal formulations.
