Mr. Chang is the Chair of Townsend's multidisciplinary Asia Practice Group. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling. Mr. Chang has extensive experience litigating matters concerning semiconductor processing and equipment, circuitry design, software, and medical devices both in Federal Court and before the U.S. International Trade Commission. Before joining Townsend, Mr. Chang was an associate at a Palo Alto, California law firm working on patent litigation matters involving electronics, semiconductor processing and equipment, and software. Prior to law school, Mr. Chang was a research associate at the University of Texas Health Science Center, developing skills in DNA and protein analysis, working with transgenic models, and conducting research in cardiovascular shock and mechanisms of vascular dilation/constriction. Following his undergraduate education, Mr. Chang also worked with the United States Air Force examining the physiological effects of exposure to radiofrequency radiation.
As Chair of Townsend’s Asia Practice Group, Mr. Chang has substantial experience representing the interests of Asian clients in US litigation, as well as negotiating settlements and license agreements on behalf of those companies. Mr. Chang’s experience in Asia and his relationships with foreign law firms further the interests of his U.S. based clients with business or litigation interests in Asia.
Mr. Chang also has been appointed a Special Prosecutor to prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the City and County of Denver.
Mr. Chang currently serves on the Trinity University National Alumni Board. Mr. Chang was named one of Denver's "40 Under 40" by the Denver Business Journal, and a “Rising Star” in intellectual property litigation by Super Lawyers in 2009.
