John is a member of the Global Macro Strategy and Investment Committees, and the Management Committee. He is responsible for research and investment underwriting, with a focus on non-core strategies including secondaries, co-investments, joint ventures and GP stakes. ​​

Prior to Townsend, John was a founding member of UBS Wealth Management’s real estate group. He also worked in Deutsche Bank’s real estate private equity group and began his career as a research analyst with Lend Lease Rosen. ​

He received an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School and a BS with honors from the University of California, Berkeley.
